January Update.

Medically the girls are doing well. We continue our MTX injections every weekend. Carly is continuing to stay clear with the treatments and has not shown and signs of psoratic arthritis since the treatments started. Katelyn on the other hand is another story. She is starting to flare a bit and her labs are a little off this week. We will continue on the same treatment for the next three months then reevaluate with her doctors.

As many of you know, the girls are active with the psoriasis foundation. Recently we were asked to participate in a New York Times piece on Psoriasis. A photographer spent several hours following the girls through their busy Thursday dance classes and homework at home. A reporter from New York spoke to us via telephone. We did this with the hopes that others may benefit from the story and better understand Psoriasis.

The piece launched this week. I'm not sure how I feel about it. It is really different to see ourselves and hear my voice. It's also heartbreaking to see the picture of Carly and hear her little voice talk about her treatments.

Next month the girls will head to Washington to attend the Psoriasis Foundation Capitol Hill day, where they will again meet with our Senators and representatives to discuss a need for a cure for this disease. We hope to see a lot of our NPF friends at this event!

For the girls, they are busy! Between dance and girl scouts, we are running non stop Monday through Friday. Katelyn made it into T/B 3 and is very happy there. She continues dancing at Premiere on Mondays with Miss Becky, doing Ballet. On Thursdays she does Tap/Ballet 3 with Miss Pattie. She loves dance and works very hard at it! Carly also loves dance and is enjoying her first year in Tap and Ballet. They are both looking forward to their recital in June!

School is going really well for both girls as well! Carly loves Kindergarten and is becoming quite the social butterfly in school. Carly especially loves Daisy's and has a few girls from her kindergarten class in her Daisy troop. Katelyn is in her last year of Brownies ... which is hard for mommy to believe! Today .... yes, on the coldest day in 4 years ... we are going Camping at the Seaport Museum in Philadelphia! This is one of our many mother daughter camping trips. This may be our last with just the two of us ... as Carly is quickly catching up to us and will most likely join us on our next trip.

Ernie and I are busy keeping up with the girls and their busy schedule. He is really busy at work and we are proud of him for all he does. Besides work he is busy cheering on the EAGLES .... hoping for a win this afternoon! As for me, I'm enjoying being available for the girls right now and attending school each tuesday night.
